Question:
How do I access block properties and info?
Answer:
You can access a block's properties and information using the Information Panel. The Information Panel (or Info Panel) provides descriptions, accessibility, and control over any block and its output. Access the Info Panel by clicking on the question mark icon on the upper right corner of the block. The info panel has an Information tab, a Properties tab, a Display tab, and a Comment tab.
The color of the question mark icon represents the Block Status.
- Blue: Incomplete Block
- Yellow: Warning
- Red: Error
Information Tab: There are block and input descriptions, input and output types, and the block version. The Info Panel will also display any alerts associated with the block. This tab's information has been moved to the Right Side Panel.
Properties Tab: It gives you access to different properties the block contains. These properties vary depending on the type of block. These properties can be dragged into the notebook and used as a variable.
Display Tab: You can change the object color by clicking on the dropdown menu. If the body is a mesh, you will be able to toggle the wireframe view on and off. You can also toggle any bodies transparency and adjust the transparency value using the slider. All of these options have been moved from the Display tab to the Right Side Panel.
The Display tab has plots showing how numerical measurements of the design’s Objective and Constraint(s) changed over the iterations of the process. You can then use these plots to see the number of iterations needed for you to get converging results.
Comment tab: You can add a comment that will appear above and remain associated with the block. If a block is within another block, a speech bubble icon will indicate that the block has a comment on it. You can also add Comments by clicking the speech bubble icon when hovering above the block. This is also used to add Input Descriptions to blocks when building Custom Blocks (How to create a custom block)
