When opening the software an "Entry Point Not Found" message appears

Issue:

  • nTop fails to open because of outdated Windows OS
  • The following error message appears:

ntop.exe - Entry Point Not Found
The procedure entry point GetUserDefaultGeoName could not be located in the dynamic link library C:\Program Files\nTop\nTop Platform\ntop.exe. Kernel32.dll could not be found.

Applies To:

  • nTop 2.22.7
  • Windows 10
  • Windows Server 2019

Cause:

This error message is caused by a missing function with an outdated operating system, Microsoft Windows 10 version 1709 or newer is required for nTop 2.22.7.

Solution:

Verify your version of Windows 10 with the following steps:

  1. Click Start > Settings > System > About
  2.  Look under Windows Specifications to check which edition and version your system is running.

If your operating system is older than Windows 10 version 1709, install the latest Windows updates.
