nTop 5.31 - What's New?

nTop 5.31 is here! This release features a new 2D Vector Field as a block and a 3D vector field property and includes a new option to limit the number of threads utilized in parallel processing. As with every release, nTop’s dedicated support team is ready to answer your questions. Please visit support.ntop.com to gain access to helpful tutorials and support articles.

2D Vector Field

  • The 2D Vector Field block outputs a 2D vector field type consisting of two scalar field components. This type is an R3 to R2 mapping, whereas the existing Vector Field type is an R3 to R3 mapping.
  • Spatially varying profiles and 2D implicit modeling for fuselage shaping, airfoil design, and duct design.
  • Block Name: 2D Vector Field
    • Location: Math > Vectors
    • Description: Create a 2D vector field from scalar field components.
    • X: The X component of the vector field as a scalar field.
    • Y: The Y component of the vector field as a scalar field.
    • Output: 2D Vector Field

Usage Improvements

  • We’ve added three new properties to the Vector Field type for quick access. The three new properties (XY, YZ, and ZX) output the new 2D Vector Field type.
  • We've added a new command-line option, --maxthreads or -m, to limit the number of threads nTop and nTop Automate use for parallel processing.
All of the available commands in ntop automate shown in the command prompt.

Block Updates

  • The Conic block has been updated to use the new 2D Vector Field type.
  • The Cubic Bezier block has been updated to use the new 2D Vector Field type.
